The client, a leading American sports federation, engaged Futures to conduct a data-driven assessment of key European markets with the objective of understanding and quantifying the drivers of their sport viewership in the countries.
We cleaned, classified and analysed the sport’s ratings for all programming, then matched it with relevant media, sports and content data. We then performed econometric analysis to quantify each factor and provide guidance on the most effective way to drive audiences.
We also examined programming at a minute-by-minute level to explore viewership behaviour during programming.
The final findings are currently being used to inform discussions with broadcasters on how to move forward with coverage of the league.
